The club was formed  in 2008 through the amalgamation of two Athletics clubs that were based out of the Hunter Sports Centre facility (Macquarie Shores and Hunter Track & Field)

Our club focuses on the full spectrum of abilities and interests from AWD Athletes, Social athletes, Club competitors, Amateur representatives through to Professional Athletes.

Throughout the Track and Field Season (September – March) on a weekly basis we run: club carnival on Friday Nights from 530pm, AWD events commencing approx 9-1030am on Saturdays & Wednesday night training 5pm – 630pm.

Friday Night carnivals will have 4 events for the younger groups and 5+ for the older age groups (u13 +).

We hope to make this year a memorable one for the Club both on and off the Track, keeping the philosophy of “Bringing Out The Best In All Athletes” and incorporating the committee’s vision of “Making Athletics a Fun Social Event for the Whole Family”.

There will be a focus this year to bring Seniors back to the track on Fridays. We will be running graded events (fo u13s and up)  in addtion to the normal Little As age events on our Friday night carnivals and senior athletes will also be welcome to join our u/17s programmed events.

Our club will be intending to build up our group of coaches to help “bring out your best” in athletics, please utilise our coaching staff.

We run FREE “On-Track” training for non- Seniors during the athletics season on Wednesday’s starting at 5.00pm and finishing at 6.30pm. We cater for sprints, throws, middle distance, jumps and walks. The club has many wonderful volunteers who do a magnificent job. However, we need more people assisting.  So feel free to put your hand up to assist. We all have to start somewhere.

To all our athletes and parents, we wish you a very happy, healthy and fun athletics season that will hopefully bring out the best in you and we encourage all to embrace the sportsmanship and friendship the club has to offer this season.

Have a great 2018-2019 season!
