Macquarie Hunter Athletics was formed in 2008 through the amalgamation of two Athletics clubs that were based out of the Hunter Sports Centre facility.

The two clubs;

Macquarie Shores Athletics and Hunter Track & Field identified synergies that by working together would form a club that provided a progressive path for Athletic development as well as a broad infrastructure that would support quality coaching and a professionally run weekly competition suitable for athletes of all ages and abilities.

Macquarie Hunter Athletics now focuses on the full spectrum of athletics fromTiny Tots through to Veterans and catering for athletes with a range of abilities from AWD athletes, Social Athletes, Club Competitors, Amateur representatives through to Professional Athletes.

 We hope to make this year a memorable one for the Club both on and off the Track, keeping the philosophy of “Bringing Out The Best In All Athletes” and incorporating the committee’s vision of “Making Athletics a Fun Social Event for the Whole Family”.

Our program this year is based on bring Seniors and Juniors back together as one group, involving as many people as we can and to provide a foundation that promotes fun and enjoyment for all.

This season, the Friday Carnival has been designed around programmes that cater for Junior members starting at 5.30pm with Senior events commencing around 6pm. The young age groups will be competing in a 4 event programme while older age groups will have 5 events. U17+ Ages will compete at set Times during the Carnival at a Registration Desk located in the Storage Shed.

The AWD programme will continue on with a Saturday Morning Carnival commencing at 9.00am.

Our club has one of the most experienced group of coaches within the Hunter Region so if you are interested in “bringing out your best” in athletics, please utilise our coaching staff. We run FREE “On-Track” training for non- Seniors on Wednesday and Saturday Afternoon as well as specialised training activities on other days.

To all our athletes, we wish you a very happy, healthy and fun athletics season that will hopefully bring out the best in you.
